Youngstock

The youngsters are growing in numbers, Lilliesleaf is my two year old filly, already with a new owner, and my yearlings Mercalli, named for the earthquake he experienced in the February before he was born (being within a few kilometres of the epicentre!) and Minuet.

The first of this year's foals is now on the ground, a lovely colt, rejoicing in the nickname of Nigel - out of Flecknoe.  This is a VERY happy event, the one time Flecknoe has foaled the foal sadly died so I'm very pleased that both are fine this time, she certainly appears to be enjoying being a mum!

Caledonia has now added to the herd, completing a hattrick of fillies for me with Nisbet, born 20th April. Pictures to follow....

Lilliesleaf (309/13)

She has been introduced on the Herd 309 page but I don't dare leave it there.  A few pictures of Lilly so far and hopefully updates as she gets out and about a little more.  Her first outing was last November at the SNEC where she behaved herself very well. This year so far she has attended SEPRC Youngsters Day, NPS Spring Show and most recently the Royal Highland Show where she was 2nd and highest placed Exmoor in her class. Next stop NPS Scotland Youngstock show.

Mercalli (309/14)

I was greeted by a text and picture on 31st March of my new arrival.  Mercalli was born 31st March at my friend's farm in Lincs, by Sweetcombe Sundew out of Heathpool Rhona.  His first outing after inspections was the NPS Scotland Youngstock show at the beginning of November where he behaved brilliantly and was fourth in his class.

Minuet (309/15)

And then on May 4th Lilliesleaf acquired a full sister, Minuet....

Now both of these foals have passed their inspection there is more about them on Herd 309 page.
